Can you believe it’s 2025 already? We’re officially 25 years away from the year 2000. Twenty-five years! Y2K feels like it was yesterday—back when everyone thought their desktop computers would self-destruct. Meanwhile, I was a 10-year-old probably doodling in my school notebook, dreaming of something that looks a lot like Pillybaxtoodles today—a creative wonderland for digital illustration lovers.
Fast forward, and now I’m here, juggling my 30s and running an online digital art studio while keeping my New Year’s motivation alive (with caffeine and sheer willpower).
You know that classic "new year, new me" spiel? The one where people pledge to wake up at 5 a.m., hit the gym, and suddenly have a color-coded schedule worthy of The Home Edit? Yeah... about that.
Here’s what I’ve learned after over a decade of failed New Year’s resolutions: it’s okay to ditch the reinvention narrative. Instead of chasing perfection, why not focus on being just a little bit better than yesterday?
Think of it as leveling up your life—like when your digital illustration skills sharpen after hours of practice in Procreate or Photoshop. Small, consistent steps lead to big changes.
This year at Pillybaxtoodles, my goal is to continue creating art that sparks joy—whether it's cute illustrated postcards, inspiring digital prints, or those quirky designs you love. And I’ll do it at my own pace, because progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful.
And hey, even the realist in me can’t help but feel hopeful about 2025. It’s like that scene in The Office when Pam says, "There's a lot of beauty in ordinary things." There's beauty in the small wins: finishing that digital illustration project you’ve been procrastinating, sharing your artwork on social media even when it feels intimidating, or simply sketching for fun without worrying about "perfection."
So, whether you’re here for motivational art, digital drawing tips, or just cheering on fellow creatives, let’s make this year about kindness—to ourselves and our art journeys.
Here’s to a creative 2025 filled with baby steps, brush strokes, and badassery. And remember, every masterpiece starts with one messy sketch.
Happy New Year, legends! Stay inspired and stay kind. 💫
